ALL: RETROMUSIC...!
AMY: Welcome back. This is Amy...
ERICK: and Erick...
TIM: and Tim...
AMY: I hate when we do that!
ERICK: Yeah.
TIM: We all freeze...
ERICK: Alright! But...
AMY: TA-DA! Today I have the ultimate privilege of introducing one of my closest friends in the whole entire planet.
ERICK: Alright.
AMY: Miss Erin Cahill! She’s actually... crunching on some soy nuts... right now...
TIM: Soy nuts.
AMY: These things are the bomb, by the way.
ERICK: RIGHT!
AMY: It is early morning and by all means, honey, chomp away! She’s actually the Pink Power Ranger on TV, and she’s my friend so we wanted her to come on... and do a chat with us. Erin... HI!
ERIN: Hi everybody...
TIM: Folks, we have a celebrity guest! WOO-HOO!
ERICK: YEAH! And of course last week we did the influential dude bands part two, and we kinda had... we kinda had our fingers crossed when we told everyone that we were gonna have...
TIM: We have a special guest.
ERICK: And so, uh, this is cool ‘cause this is kinda like the influential chick band... chick segment show, whatever you want to call it.
AMY: WE RULE! WOO!
TIM: INFLUENTIAL CHICKS!
ERICK: WAY TO GO AMY! YEAH!
TIM: They’re so influential. Take a look. They’re wearing the same outfit.
AMY: WE DID NOT EVEN KNOW THIS ON THE SHOW!
ERIN: We did not plan this. I come in and Amy’s like, "LOOK AT YOU! I LOVE YOUR OUTFIT!"
TIM: That’s so cute.
AMY: And I’m like, "NO WAY, THAT’S MINE!"
ERICK: For those of you who can’t see this...
TIM: Yes...
ERICK: ...They’re not dressed as Power Rangers, just to keep that in.
TIM: AMY DRESSED AS A POWER RANGER!
AMY: Not that pink is bad, ‘cause I love pink, okay. Pink is great, but anyways...
TIM: No, of all things, they’re both wearing like red, like uh, button down shirts and black pants, uh, black slacks. I mean, it’s like, it could not have been.
AMY: And for a Sunday morning, that’s kind of funny. But, whatever, dude.
TIM: That’s kind of odd.
ERICK: Very.
AMY: It’s all about the sweats and t-shirts, but it’s all good today, guys!
ERICK: Right. I mean, Tim and I are like, just dressed in whatever. I mean, hey, it’s Sunday morning. I mean, you wanna sleep in and...
AMY: You mean, you don’t always dress like that, Erick?
ERICK: Uh...
TIM: ...No, he likes to dress up like the Pink Power Ranger!
ERICK: AH, NO! NO!
AMY: I think he likes yellow. Sunshine, you know?
ERICK: ...Well, that and animal print!
AMY: ZEBRA!
ERIN: That’s actually funny you should mention that, ‘cause this year we’re gonna get an animal print ranger!
AMY: Shut up.
ERIN: Nah, just kidding.
AMY: That would’ve been one too many steps way over the line... over that line, you know?
ERIN: Can you imagine?
AMY: That’s so being appropriate...
ERIN: If there wasn’t anything like leopard?
AMY: ZEBRA! I’M TELLING YOU! A zebra is so much cuter.
ERICK: A leopard ranger.
TIM: That would just - oh God...
AMY: ...With ears and everything. And a tail?
ERICK: You know, so if we go to the stores we can get like an Erin Cahill action figure, like Pink Power Ranger doll. You know, in the stores and stuff?
ERIN: Uh-huh, YEAH!
AMY: You have a... you have a doll!?
ERIN: I’m an action figure, Amy.
AMY: SHUT UP!
ERIN: I TOLD YOU! I’M NOT KIDDING!
AMY: Oh my gosh! I so want to own one!
ERIN: So you guys, seriously...
AMY: But I have the real thing right here...
ERIN/AMY: AW!
TIM: Can you feel the love in this room?
ERIN/AMY: (SINGING) Can you feel the love tonight...
ERICK: Um, okay. But anyways, we do play music on the show...
TIM: We do play music.
ERICK: And, uh...
AMY: And quick, before they hear anymore of my singing; okay?
ERICK: Right, and since Erin is our special guest, we’re gonna give her the honor of announcing our first song.
AMY: Soy chips, soy nuts.
TIM: So Erin, it is...
ERIN: AWESOME! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the 80’s song, Private Idaho by the B52’s!
VO: RETROMUSIC!

ERIN: Hey everybody. This is Erin Cahill from the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers TV show, and you’re listening to Retromusic, with Erick, Tim and Amy at KCLAFM.com!
AMY: That was so professional!
ERICK: Wow, first Bat Girl, and now the Pink Power Ranger! YEAH!
TIM: OH, GOSH!
ERICK: I gotta get her on the website!
TIM: That’s right, we have to get...
ERIN: OH MY GOSH! You still have her on the wall!
ERICK: Yeah, I met Yvonne Craig down there. Of course I didn’t know that she was. Didn’t look like...
TIM: Substantially older.
ERICK: BUT THAT’S OK!
ERIN: You guys gotta see this picture...
ERICK: That’s another story... Well, anyways.
TIM: Alrighty.
ERICK: So, uh, speaking of. You know we’ve been talking about action figures...
TIM: Action figures here.
ERICK: You know we got her action figure... You know we should make, ac- You know Retromusic...
TIM: Retromusic action figures, yes... You know the fully poseable Erick...
AMY: Can we have "Phuzz Munch?"
TIM: Yeah, exactly. We’ll get a little "Phuzz"...
AMY: Our little cat?
TIM: He still hasn’t come out yet though. I don’t know where he is...
AMY: We have a mascot, Erin, by the way... Our cat...
TIM: MY CAT.
ERICK: Yes we do. A little cat, which of course, you can see on the website...
TIM: It’s actually "Phuzz Munch"... "Phuzz Munch."
AMY: "Phuzz Munch." My bad.
ERICK: "PHUZZ MUNCH."
TIM: "Froderick J. Phuzz Munch."
ERIN: My bad...
TIM: But, we know we’re gonna get a fully poseable action - I mean, "Action Erick Figure"... Erick action figure!
AMY: We were talking about it at the break, actually...
TIM: That’s right. In a leopard print thong...
AMY: And sucked-in cheeks!
TIM: Sucked-in cheeks!
AMY: He instantly poses every time you get a camera anywhere near this man! IT IS SO FUNNY!
ERICK: Oh boy...
TIM: It’s a fully poseable action figure, literally. HE FULLY POSES!
ERIN: You said every time you press the button, his cheeks suck in.
TIM: Cheeks suck in...
ERICK: Ah, jeez... But anyway, uh...
AMY: So, honey, let me ask her something...
ERICK: Yeah, go ahead.
AMY: Erin, darling...
ERIN: Yes, my love!
AMY: So, what got you into the whole, the whole acting bit? Like, what you did, what have you done? Like, what brought you to where you’re at?
ERIN: Um... I started when I was like, four, in Virginia. I got into my first play, and then I got all crazy about it, and... And everybody asked me, "Did you’re mom push you into this?" And then when I was like, eight, not even eight; I was littler than that. I was in a play... Littler than that - you can tell I’m from Virginia. I was in a play, and, um... I found out what a portfolio was from other people in the group and I pushed my mom until I got my first headshot, and I think I got like one copy of it in my house. It’s me and a little lawn chair in front of my house. We had this photographer come over. We did it in black and white, and I’m sitting with my arms and my legs crossed like a little...
TIM: Like looking a little, like the starlet...
ERIN: TOTALLY, full on. Like...
TIM: That’s great. That’s so...
ERIN: So that’s when it started.
TIM: And this was at four?
ERICK: Were you sucking your cheeks?
ERIN: YEAH!
TIM: Were you sucking your cheeks...
ERIN: No, I wasn’t four. I was like, probably between... I don’t know. But between the ages of six and nine; real little. And I was the one who pushed my mom into it, and so I’ve been loving it ever since I was a little girl. Then I did it all through high school, and then during high school I went up to New York on some summertimes, and like, trained with people and did internships at agencies, and um... auditioned a little bit.
TIM: So the acting then came first, and then the martial arts? ‘Cause you...
ERIN: ...Well, YES! By a wide margin. Like, pretty much when they said, "you got the part of the Pink Power Ranger," I said, "ohh, okay, martial arts, NOW!"
TIM: Got it. So, oh, okay. Cool.
AMY: She’s good though!
TIM: So I got hope.
AMY: I’ve seen her in some of my classes. She’s really good. Audiences out there, just so you know what the heck I’m talking about, I actually, uh, train for tai-kwan-do, which is pretty funny...
ERIN: Have you like, not talked about your tai-kwan-do on the show before?
AMY: No, uh-uh. I don’t ever mention it. I do; I take tai-kwan-do. Uh, a few times.
ERIN: Amy is so good. She just got her yellow belt, everybody.
TIM: WOO-HOO!
ERIN: And she’s training for her...
AMY: Which is really small...
TIM: Erick’s got his leopard print belt.
AMY: ZEBRA! ZEBRA!
ERICK: Yes, I’m the leopard ranger, and Amy is the Yellow Ranger, over there.
AMY: But um... Erin has come a few times. She’s actually really good. I’m impressed.
ERICK: Coming up next, we’re gonna have a... Tim is gonna have a spotlight; aren’t you?
TIM: That would be me.
ERICK: Yes, you are.
TIM: Yes, I will. Uh-huh.
ERICK: Cool bands. Coming up here.
TIM: ROCKING BANDS, MAN!
AMY: Tool...
ERICK: And, A Perfect Circle...
TIM: Tool and A Perfect Circle.
ERICK: That’s all coming up next.
AMY: Tool rocks...
ERICK: We have Erin Cahill from the Power Rangers on the show. Stay tuned; we’re gonna have some more after this.

Talking Segment 3 |
 |
VO: RETROMUSIC SPOTLIGHT!
TIM: Alright, and we thought, or I thought, and it turns out it was really, really appropriate, because Amy is a really big Tool fan, and A Perfect Circle fan, and it turns out that so is Erin. So...
AMY: Do you know the story behind him? The lead singer of Tool? Talking about that voice?
TIM: Well, you were telling me that, I think that you were telling me that he basically screamed, I mean, the guy has, like...
AMY: Everyday.
TIM: Yeah, he...
ERIN: WOW!
TIM: He has training. Like, he was in Glee Club, and things like that back in school. I mean, he was singing in choirs and such, so he has like, all this kind of background in singing, you know. Like, the kind of standard singer, whatever. But you were telling me that that’s what he did. My sister has seen them a few times and such, also...
AMY: They’re crazy. I mean, they got some pretty weird stuff going on, I’ve gotta admit it...
TIM: But Maynard James Keenan...
AMY: I love his music.
ERIN: What do you mean? Like, he purposely screams?
TIM: Yep.
ERIN: EVERYDAY?
AMY: He used to. He just has the voice for it. It was that.
ERIN: WOAH!
AMY: CRAZY.
TIM: APPARENTLY.
AMY: He is amazing.
TIM: But, what I decided we should do here...
AMY: To make a long story short...
TIM: Yeah, to make a long story short; I thought what we would do here is pick something a little bit older from Tool, from actually the, uh... album, Aenema, uh... pick a song. It’s called, Forty-six and Two, and that album came out in nineteen ninety-six. And then more recently, we’re still waiting for the new Tool album to come out, which I believe will be out in about a month or two. But uh... we’re going to get the song off of Perfect Circle, which is Tool’s, well, Maynard’s, not Tool, but Maynard’s... He doesn’t even like to call it a side project. The cat just entered the room, and all of a sudden, everybody’s looking.
ERIN: Yeah, I didn’t want to say anything.
TIM: That’s okay. Hey, "Phuzz"...
ERICK: Our official mascot, and uh... "Phuzz Munch."
TIM: A Perfect Circle; they have been selling out shows everywhere. This is one of the most profitable tours, actually, of last year, and even of this year as well, so far.
AMY: They’re really, he’s, it’s him, I swear...
TIM: It has a lot to do with him. Um... he definitely put a whole lot into this. I mean, not to take anything away, uh... from Pasella Chant, on who plays base and Violin, and then uh... Billy, uh... Howard L., the guitar player. The guy who wrote the songs, but, just an amazing thing, and Maynard shows a different side of his vocaling, vocalizations, or whatever. Yeah, it’s not quite as hard and he really kinda shows a really beautiful side of his violin in this, so... that song we’re gonna do, Three Libras, and then Forty-six and Two; the first with Tool, and second song with Perfect Circle.

 |
Talking Segment 4 |
 |
AMY: Aah... That was such a great song!
ERIN: WHOO!
ERICK: Yep. Three Libras.
TIM: And then, of course, Forty-six and Two; the drum solo just rocks! I love that song.
AMY: I’m just... I’m speechless when I hear their stuff. It’s just the bomb. Anyways. So Erin, quick questionnaire...
ERICK: For those of you tuning in, Erin, the Pink Power Ranger, is here with us.
TIM: Like, so, what did you listen to when you, let’s say... I don’t know, for, let’s say your high school years? What did you listen to?
ERIN: OH, MY GOODNESS...
TIM: What were you into?
ERIN: We were talking about it earlier. I was, like... this is more in middle school, but I was all about Def Leppard, and Poison...
TIM: YOU WERE? REALLY?
ERIN: NO JOKE.
TIM: THAT IS SO COOL.
ERIN: Ah, this is more like, in elementary school, I guess. When I think back, I think like, Tiffany, and all those...
AMY: DEBBIE GIBSON?
ERIN: Debbie Gibson; Lost in Your Eyes. All the girls know what we’re talking about...
ERICK: NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK?
ERIN: Oh, don’t get me started...
AMY: I had every poster. I even had...
ERIN: I cried... I had their tapes... I cried. I’d buy the biggest thing they ever had...
AMY: AAAH!
AMY/ERIN: And I had one for Joe, and I had the pillow. I’d be like "I COULD HAVE MARRIED YOU! I LOVE YOU!"
TIM: ...Okay, Erick...
AMY: Ooh, and I had their bedspread...
ERICK: I think you should have thrown it at her...
TIM: Uh-huh... Um... Erick, I think, uh...
ERIN: I HAD THE DOLL...
AMY: I HAD THE DENIM JACKET...
ERICK: THE WOMEN HAVE TAKEN OVER THE SHOW!
TIM: They’re totally on their own wavelength; own conversation here...
ERICK: OH BOY...
AMY: Well, I like N’SYNC now, so I guess that’s just as bad. Any listener hates me for that. I’m sorry, but I gotta keep it real, like I do! Don’t mind the boy band thing. I’m not, like, hard core. I’m a little too old for that. But I don’t mind them at all.
ERICK: Okay, I do admit that. You know we do like the girl bands, so...
ERIN: Oh, I thought he was going to say the boy bands.
AMY: I KNOW...
ERICK: NO!
TIM: What girl groups do you like?
ERICK: Like, the Spice Girls, when they came out...
TIM: WE DO!? What do you mean, "we," kimosabe?
ERICK: The Go-Go’s...
TIM: Okay, the Go-Go’s, yeah.
AMY: The Go-Go’s in their prime. But Belinda Carlisle? HELLO!
TIM: THE SPICE GIRLS?
ERICK: Josie and the Pussycats?
TIM: ...Erick and his melody thing. Well, me too, so...
AMY: Okay, so I guess we should wrap this up right now... If you are an unsigned artist and would like to guest on our show, or be a guest on our show, whatever sounds right, uh... or just spotlight your music; you can e-mail us at Retromusic at KCLAFM.com. That’s Retromusic at KCLAFM.com.
TIM: Or, you can visit our website. web2.kclafm.com/retromusic. That’s web, the number two, dot K-C-L-A-F-M, dot com, slash, Retromusic. And...
ERIN: Check out, uh, go to Yahoo search, and check out Erin Cahill. That’s E-R-I-N, last name, C-A-H-I-L-L, I said that in an English accent, L-L! These guys will be on my website, and um, got lots of good stuff there!
ERICK: COOL.
TIM: ‘Cause we don’t know Erin’s website.
AMY: I know. No one knows our’s, but they know your’s, and that’s okay with us. And that’s gonna do it, I think. Yeah, guys? For Retromusic Today.
ERICK: We had a lot of fun...
TIM: WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!
